Running exports gives the following:

karaf@root>package:exports | grep -i xerces
com.sun.xml.fastinfoset.org.apache.xerces.util                        |
1.2.13                | 158 | org.apache.servicemix.bundles.fastinfoset

Removing xercesImpl.jar for lib/endorsed will probably help. Since that
was my previous situation when I was still on 3.0.0.RC1.
