Hi Igor,
The "long resolution" issue has already been fixed for 3.0.2: the system
folder repo should be in the first position of the repositories definition.
Regarding the authentication, we created a Jira about that (with a
workaround for 3.0.2 waiting for the fix on Pax URL).

Hello!
I'm trying to start karaf 3.0 with configured mirror in settings.xml and
it takes a lot of time to start for the first time.
I've tried both: clean karaf distribution from official site and own
assembled distribution with all custom features dependencies in system
folder. The behavior is the same.
After digging a while I found next points:
1. mirror is used for both karaf system folder and my m2 folder even if
I've already packed all needed feature in system folder.
2. karaf can't rich to mirrored repo because it requires authentication
and I'm using encrypted password in settigns.xml. But karaf just puts
user name and password as is in request....
Can somebody advise how I can make karaf ignore this mirrors, or what is
the recommended configuration in such cases?
I'm using maven 3.0.3, jdk 1.7 on Win7 x64 pc.
Thanks for the help.
WBR,
Igor
