2 node "horz" cluster? Being an open source project, the source code always takes priority, in this case, JB had to do a big refactoe to update for Karaf 3.x, as well as get Cave 3.x out the door, as well as his Karaf responsibilities... on top of that, he and others are lightning fast at responding when others need help (faster probably than any mailing list I've seen). Unfortunately, for all that work that JB amd others have to do, it leaves very little time to put together documentation.
While open source software is free, the "free" part is typically balanced by the fact that users don't always have gobs of documentation at their disposal since documentation takes a ton of time. You can contribute some docs or example as a thanks if you want. Otherwise, you'll have to make due. Unit tests are always a great place to look for help. Plus, as JB said, some of what you are asking is documented already. Just my humble 2 cents and advice. Glad your problem was resolved.
