I don't know exactly what you mean by "naked" ;)
But, what you can:
1/ you can use blueprint: URL in a features XML to directly refer a
blueprint descriptor
2/ you can also use <configfile/> to provision a blueprint XML in the
deploy folder for instance
Is it what you want to do ?
