Hi JB. I do agree it's weird... at one stage, I did really think it was due to
the order in which I was starting my instances. But I can reproduce it
consistently. If there's anything I can do to provide more information, just
let me know.
I'm sorry if I was not clear before. I do have the CXF feature installed in my
Karaf instance. I am not using CXF for the DOSGi implementation... the feature
would never load. I was getting resolution errors attempting to install
version 1.6 of CXF DOSGi into Karaf 3.0.3, and kept getting them regardless of
the older versions of CXF DOSGi I was using.
What I was able to get to work (ignoring the log level issue) was install
Karaf-Cellar and Karaf-Celler-dosgi into my Karaf instance. I am still using
cxf for JAX-RS support, but I am not using cxf-dosgi.
Please let me know if you need any more info. Thanks heaps for your prompt

Hmm, sorry for the spam, but it might be due to logging. If turn off all
logging across all instances, my calls from KA to KB time out.
If I enable debug logging for org.apache.karaf.cellar.dosgi in KA, then it
works as expected. I'm not sure why this would be...
