Hi JB,

Looking forward to a elasticsearch2 feature … I was on the process of deploying
a transport client into karat ..

Thanks
Jens

Subject: Re: Decanter with plain elasticsearch?

Hi Dan,

no problem at all, we will need to add an additional ES2 instance for people to
use it as a client node :-)

OTH I would love to have a one-in-all bundle for Kibana2 too ... :/

so just asking for help if someone knows how to run node.js inside a java
environment together with something rather complex as Kibana ...

OTH. why in the world did they change there ... till know no extra server was
needed to run Kibana, it'll be hard to get that introduced into a lot of
companies
to have an extra server just for Kibana, while everything else is
Tomcat/JBoss/whatever-java-app-server based ...

regards, Achim

I’ve no idea how you’d run Kib4+ (node) on top of Kibana, sorry!
I was pointing out that, as I understand it, Kib3 (which is in Decanter,
presumably), won’t work against an ES2 instance anyway, which I thought was
what was being proposed.

Apologies if I’ve misunderstood,
Dan.

We are aware of this, the problem is node.js in that case. right now it seams
impossible to run it on top of karaf :(
But feel free to take care of that if you know how to get this working :D

I’m not sure Kibana 3 is compatible with ES2, they removed quite some
functionality around filters, etc. AFAIK Kib 4.2 (node.js) added ES2 support.

Yes, it's what I plan.

Hi,

maybe we should add an additional elasticsearch 2.0 feature to it, even
though we can't bring the node.js based Kibana on top of karaf, we can
at least make sure
a el2 node can be used as client node.

   Hi Stefan,

You can use an external elasticsearch instance, then it can use
   elasticsearch 2.0.

Embedded, it's still elasticsearch 1.7.x (for now ;)).

       Thanks in advance
