One thing to add is that Aries RSA is only one of a variety of OSGi Remote 
Services Admin implementations. 

There are multiple Open Source and commercial implementations available, and 
the entire specification is pluggable, so it’s possible to use discovery from 
one implementation with the distribution and/or topology management from 
another implementation. 

Depending on exactly what you’re trying to do different implementations will 
have different trade-offs and support models. If this is going to form an 
important part of your solution then it is definitely worth assessing your 
options here.
