This is build into shell-core in 4.1-SNAPSHOT, see https://github.com/apache/karaf/blob/master/shell/core/src/main/java/org/apache/karaf/shell/impl/console/osgi/CommandTracker.java So you could copy the code into your own bundle, it should work.
