I suspect something like this as well.

I've tried doing "rm -rf ~/.m2/repository/" before building locally, to
ensure that it wasn't some leftovers in the local repo that made the pax
exam test work when building locally.

However, when building locally the pax exam karaf node boots just fine
even when starting out with an empty local maven repo.  So that wasn't
the problem.

It would have been nice to be able to get the karaf.log from the pax
exam test.  But I don't know how to do that on travis.
