I have developed a tool for the University of Geneva to access databases from Lenya. It allows inserting dynamic content within static content in Lenya pages.

building one-off queries is an often requested feature, so it would make sense to build on this (maybe as a plugin, once we figure out how to do this)
i would be interested to hear what your main problems were, and how you solved them (maybe better on the dev list)
