indeed, and that is a problem. they do not make use of the API at all.
Is there other separate implementations of these tasks ? Or how to use them in default publication to do not break anything else occasionaly ?
in 1.2, you will just have to define them in your targets.xml and try it out. in 1.4, they have been replaced by proper java classes, which are much easier to understand. so if you can, take a look at 1.4
