Did Subclipse forget to add "Import from SVN"?  Please tell me there
is an easier method than the documented "download these, move some,
delete that".  Or do I need a separate SVN client (like Subversion)?

or you can import an existing project from the filesystem, and once it's in, click on team -> share project. that should detect your svn settings
