I'd prefer to wait on the new stable version. On the other hand I'd take the
dev-version, if I knew that:
a.) updating from 1.2.3 will be heavy for a newbie
b.) its worth it (meaning that 1.2.4 has some remarkable benefits compared
to 1.2.3)
