I went ahead and attached the qmax's script that I have [got from the
wiki a while back] to the wiki. I think that I might have changed
something in the script but can't remember. Perhaps qmax can upload his
latest script :).

I have used the script from qmax with success (on the wiki page above).
If you are using 1.4 you might want to look at webDAV
(http://wiki.apache.org/lenya/HowToEditWithWebDAV). I use an xp web
folder to drag and drop new documents into my publication via webdav
(haven't tried it with other webdav clients though).
