I'm guessing this would involve creating (at least) a new Document, DocuemntBuilder and an AbstractPublication which would be aware of the new area?
Do you think it might be better to extend/piggy-back an existing area? Like under info-*

Actually, custom areas are not supported out of the box.
For the supported areas, look at the Publication interface.
I have no idea about the implications of your changes, but when
you're successful, it would be great to document it in the Wiki.
