I did not yet integrate that feature in 1.4 because a forecheckin usecase
might look different because we have session information avilable in the
system in 1.4. Thereore if user tries to edit a locked file the system
should check whether the user who locked the file still has an valid
session. If yes it should not be allwoed to checkin a document.
well, or being told that this user is still logged in ... maybe provide
with an email or phone number to contact or instant messaging within Lenya
;-)

that would definitely make sense. I think we should add this button/link
to the "this document is already been checkedout" screen.
IMO that is the way to go. In that case we can also avoid the menu entry
which is necessary in 1.2.
