The sitetree ajax widget uses the following uri ns scheme to access
sitetree fragments:
/info-authoring/info-sitetree/sitetree-fragment.xml?
area={area}&documentid={docid}

Where did you find the information that this is supported?
The internal sitetree XML is not accessible over HTTP, unless
you implement a specific view. For handling site-structure-based
widgets etc., please refer to the navigation framework documentation.
