my application is like this, CMS user logs into the lenya CMS then it would
ask for entering two dates. basing on those dates the new document will be

Would that be an option to modify the existing "New Document" screen and
ask the user to enter the two dates at this stage? If so (in 1.4), look
at src/pubs/default/lenya/usecases/site/create.jx and the class
org.apache.lenya.cms.site.usecases.CreateDocument
