ok. What servlet container are you using?
I remember similar problems with BEA WLS, but which seemd to be
configiured a bit strange, because it had issues with resolving localhost.
IIRC the problem was that the Lenya scheduler runs within a separate
servlet and the Lenya core makes a http request to the scheduler,
but because of the localhost resolve problems it couldn't connect and
hence one couldn't publish.
You can test if you have a similar issue by commenting the scheduler
line within the publishing pipeline.
Also I am not sure anymore if we built in a workaround, but which might
be part of Lenya 1.2.5-dev

is foo123 a document (XHTML) which you have created?
What about other documents which are part of the sample, can you publish
these?
