i found this kind of documentation next-to-useless, because you can't
easily find out which attributes an input module supports, since all you
see in the docs is a dynamic parameter map.
e.g. you know that a "{flow-continutaion:*}" exists, but you have no way
of knowing that the field you're looking for is "{flow-continuation:id}".

No, you are right - we have to add some more javadocs.
I recently listed the parameters of the AccessControlModule
(http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/lenya/trunk/src/modules-core/ac-impl/java/src/org/apache/lenya/cms/cocoon/components/modules/input/AccessControlModule.java?revision=442123&view=markup),
but there is still much room for improvement.
