Guys,
I am new to Lenya and have been working with it now to two days. I'm
a java developer for my day to day job and was very interested in the
lenya project. Basically I am wanting to setup personal blog and was
wondering if Lenya was the right tool for the job.
no.
lenya does have a "blog" example publication, but it is not very
actively maintained and misses some essential features (comment posting
among them).
I've been reading a
lot about WordPress and how good it is but I would like to possible
contribute to Lenya in some form or fashion if possible. Currently I'm
using version 1.2 as my test because 1.4 said it was not stable at this
time.
it is safe to use 1.4 now, since it is in feature freeze and a release
candidate is imminent.
Has anybody had success in setting up Lenya to be a blogging website?
Figured out how to implement categories inside the blog example
publication? Look forward to hearing back from those who use Lenya to
learn its capabilities.
lenya is a wonderful tool to maintain websites, but it is certainly not
the best tool for a blogger. it is of course possible to extend lenya to
provide blogging features - the blog example publication tries to do
that, but as i said, it's incomplete and hardly more than a
proof-of-concept study.
