What about step 3? But first a more basic question!

Suppose I include the following in a document:

How do I make the external javascript known to Lenya, when I store it
in the map /pubs/mypub/resources/javascript?

The same applies to toggleLayer function I suppose?

Not really strange, it will show up in all resource types that use
page2xhtml.xsl.
