It seems for me that things are getting complicated and I'm not shure that
a module plattform will be successful.
When we use the wiki to collect modules like wik proposed earlier, wie can
find out how good the idea of module
contribution is accepted by the community. So I propose to set up a wiki
page where people can list the modules they would like
to provide and modules they need.

If we have enough contibutions, we'll find a way how we can do it.

+1, this sounds like a reasonable approach.

I also wouldn't mind to add contributions to the sandbox in SVN, if multiple contributors are interested in participating in the development and want to provide patches.
