It appears I was mistaken.  Its not PHP5, its the midgard sitewizard thats 
causing the problem.  Creating the sites by hand works like a dream.  As soon 
as sitewizard get a hold of any site, aegir and  spider attachments store 
working properly.  Sounds like sitewizard is trying to inject a path/guid that 
does not exist.
