Hi, I may be mistaken, but I think your estimates are a bit high. Neo4j is running in production in many social deployments. If you want to build a social network, then Neo4j is the way to go. By the time your social network outgrows the current limits of Neo4j, we will most likely support sharding for wide-scale deployments.
