All m2eclipse code (except Mylyn integration) runs on Java 1.4 and
should not use Eclipse API above 3.2. Though we don't have resources to
troughfully test m2eclipse with Eclipse versions before Eclipse 3.3, so
we can only rely on community and fix specific issues as they approach.
However, some of the Maven core components included with m2eclipse
0.0.12 require Java 5 to run, so you have to use Java 5 at the moment.
We'll make sure to restore compatibility with Java 1.4 in the future.

Is it safe to uninstall via brute force (just delete any projects, and the
