Ben,

All m2eclipse code (except Mylyn integration) runs on Java 1.4 and should not use Eclipse API above 3.2. Though we don't have resources to troughfully test m2eclipse with Eclipse versions before Eclipse 3.3, so we can only rely on community and fix specific issues as they approach.

However, some of the Maven core components included with m2eclipse 0.0.12 require Java 5 to run, so you have to use Java 5 at the moment. We'll make sure to restore compatibility with Java 1.4 in the future.

 regards,
 Eugene

I installed m2eclipse 0.0.12 on RAD 7.0.0.5. I am not able to run any
of the maven goals. I get the following error in the Console:

NPT ERROR: Cannot open library

If I change the jre to another jdk I have installed, it works. The
message above only shows up with the default JRE installed with RAD7.

Have you seen this? Are you able to run maven goals with the default jre?

This will be one of several threads on using m2eclipse 0.0.12 under RAD 7. I
understand this is not "supported" (RAD requires 3.1, for example), but so
far progress is encouraging.

The m2eclipse 0.0.12 plugin was installed via the usual mechanism (Find and
Install), though of course I had to show features not applicable to eclipse
3.1. At the moment, I'd like to uninstall and reinstall the plugin (to get
some screen shots for documentation), but the "uninstall" option doesn't
show up when I view the m2eclipse feature in Manage Configuration. In the
past I've seen this happen with plugins installed by brute force, not via
the normal install process. Is this because of the version conflict?

Is it safe to uninstall via brute force (just delete any projects, and the
installed plugin files, and then restart RAD with –clean)? Or is there a
better way?

Thanks!
