Errors like the one you are describing are one of the reasons that I stopped using MyEclipse. You could try looking at the plugin installation and see if it is installed correctly. MyEclipse has been promising for years (3 or 4 at least) to include support for Maven but has not delivered. Also, they wrap the WTP tools within their plugins which interferes with any updates from the WTP project.
