There is a very simple way of keeping up with Eclipse plugins - keep
each one in a separate folder and either use a link file or simply
Eclipse update manager GUI to point to it.
Steps:
* create a separate folder for all your plugins, good practice to
make it Eclipse version dependent. For instance eclipse-plugins-3.3
* create a folder per plugin. For maven - create
eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven
* when installing the plugin - specify this folder as extension
location (it could alternatively be done with an Eclipse link file)
* do that for each version of m2eclipse. When version 0.0.12 is
installed - copy eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven into
eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven-0.0.12
* delete eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven/eclipse, but leave
eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven
* start eclipse with -clean option - to clean plugin cache
* install 0.9.2 into the the same location
* copy copy eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven into
eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven-0.9.2
* when you need to point to a particular version:
o stop eclipse
o remove eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven
o rename appropriate folder into eclipse-plugins-3.3/maven
o start eclipse with -clean
* you can also set plugin version per workspace, but it's a
different topic
Hope this helps,

I had a similar issue with a bug in the first release of 0.9.
I was only able to do this by uninstalling the 0.9 and then installing 0.0.12
Once the bug was fixed, I updated to 0.9 again and all is smooth

I don't think Eclipse Update Manager would allow you to install
earlier version if you have more recent stuff installed. So the only
option would be to completely uninstall 0.9.x build and then install 0.0.12
I would be interested to hear if you get better performance with
0.0.12, because in my observation 0.9 is about magnitude faster then
0.0.12 and it is clearly something specific to your environment that
cause such performance issues.

because of http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-523 for some
development colleages i need to provide a eclipse with plugin 0.0.12
version. still i am having problems to get 0.0.12 installed. currently
i installed 0.9.2 version only (-> replace with older version would
not work).
i tried to disable all 0.9.2 m2eclipse plugin and to install through
older update site http://m2eclipse.codehaus.org/update/ but this gives
a (No features found, Choose a different site). it seems that it still
knows about 0.9.2 version.
has anybody succeeded to install 0.0.12 after disabling 0.9.2? or do
you know a hint what i can do to get 0.0.12?
thanks.
