I think it will. I have a vague idea for some extra branching-related
functionality for the m2eclipse wish-list; prob. something along the
lines of a feature that would automatically qualify the project names
with a branch name (more or less a slightly more automated enhancement
to the project name template in the new m2eclipse maven project import
wizard, which is great by the way!). The main thing I'm noodling on
is where the branch name should come from.
I wouldn't know where to get branch information either and with
distributed system your branch is practically some random clone that
could live anywhere.
On the other hand, to with with Maven build process, you would need an
unique version for each of your branches, so you would have clear
separation between artifacts built from each branch, so it better to be
reflected in the artifact version somehow.
