You can certainly use anything that it is available in any way that pleases you, but I hope you would understand that explicitly supporting rather exceptions scenarios won't be the hight priority for the project. I am actually will be very surprised if there would be someone else that uses m2eclipse like this.

However it is in your hands to make your use cases work with m2eclipse. If you are interested to investigate it and figure our what need to be fixed we will support your efforts. For example, you can start from the wiki page that explains how to configure development environment to work with m2eclipse code [1].
