Thanks, This issue may be related to the other email I sent about jsp's not including resources.
It seems that after following the WTP min how-to to the letter, eclipse isn't working with java resources properly. Ctrl-Shift-T wont find the class, jsp imports will not work, and I also tried writing a servlet and Tomcat could not find the class either.
