Yes I can create them from the command line, using:
mvn archetype:create -DarchetypeGroupId=au.com.aami.archetypes
-DarchetypeArtifactId=basic-jar -DarchetypeVersion=1.0
-DgroupId=au.com.aami.dialler -DartifactId=DiallerResources
I simply do not supply a remote repository.
I will sort it out, provide an example, and submit an issue.
Sorry, I should have mentioned it that you need to use
archetype:generate goal and not deprecated "create". See
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-archetype-plugin/plugin-info.html
