Chris,
It would be easier to track this issue if you create a bug report in
project issue tracker and also attach configuration details about your
Eclipse configuration from Help / About Eclipse SDK / Configuration Details.
Also, please provide more detailed instructions how to see that
palette shows anything? As far as I can see the Palette view is
contributed by GEF, and it is linked to some editors, so it is unclear
when this view supposed to show anything.
