Exactly. Maven builder contributed by m2eclipse is taking care of
resource filtering and copying to the appropriate location. Also, as it
been mentioned before, resource folder is only added to JDT classpath
for convenience and to make those resources more accessible in the
Package Explorer view.

My eclipse project uses m2eclipse and is configured with :
<classpathentry excluding="**" kind="src"
output="target/classes" path="src/main/resources"/>
The excluding filter has the side effect (on eclipse 3.4) to
disable ANY resource file from beeing copied to the target directory.
Is this the expected behaviour ?
