I think this may be becasue I'm not using the Import wizard to check out the code from SVN. I prefer not using subclipse, but subversive and afaik it's not possible to use subversive and m2eclipse together.
That is not the case. I wonder what lead you to that conclusion? http://docs.codehaus.org/display/M2ECLIPSE/Integration+with+Subversive
So I've just gone and checked out my parent project directly from the subversive repository browser.
If you do it that way, it won't be imported as Maven project. So, bad idea. However you can use "Checkout Maven project from SCM" wizard. It is actually neutral to the actual version control provider and works even with command line tools (and also have richer ui integrations for cvs, subclipse and subversive).
If you disable the "next" button in my scenario, I'm affraid it will be impossible for me to materialize the module projects!
This is also not the case. Like I said, "materialize" wizard does need artifacts, so enabled "next" when there is no artifacts is clearly a error. Please read my previous email again about importing local projects. If you have parent project in Eclipse and need to import additional nested projects you can do that as described in my previous email.

 Eugene
