I have a couple of unassigned JIRAs that relate to problems that
apparently
will be fixed when m2eclipse starts using a newer version of the Maven
Embedder:
<http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-1016>
(and a related issue <http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/
MNGECLIPSE-948>)
<http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-847>
Since I reported these two issues, I can't vote on them ;-)
Wow, that's not very bright. It doesn't even count your report as a
vote.
I think half the problem is triaging the issues that exist because
there are 300+ issues which makes it hard for people to find what to
vote on. So tomorrow or Thursday Rich and I will start the process of
triaging the existing bugs to reduce the count. Fred is looking at the
WTP issues, and Anton will look at the POM Editor issues.
Pat, if there is only one vote then you need to get other people to
vote as you'll see from the report things with one vote fall down
pretty far on the list:
http://www.sonatype.org/~j2ee-hudson/reports/m2e-votes.html
I just tried changing the reporter on MNGECLIPSE-1016 to me so try
voting on it now. What might be easier is to just consider a reported
issue to have one vote. I can change that report to do this.
So I am trying to understand how these two issues relate to the
m2eclipse
development plan (i.e., which version of m2eclipse will incorporate
the
updated Maven Embedder which purportedly will fix these two issues).
I would also encourage others to examine these two issues to see
whether
they affect you, if so please vote for them.
TIA

Hi,
As part of trying to determine what users actually want us to work on
we really do need you to vote.
We have a Hudson job that will collect all the information from JIRA:
https://ci.sonatype.org/job/m2e-user-issue-votes/
And it will produce this report which we will look at:
http://www.sonatype.org/~j2ee-hudson/reports/m2e-votes.html
It doesn't look like many people are voting given the number of
downloads we're seeing. So please vote if you want something fixed
because it will be the only fair way to assess what the user
community
considers a priority.
Thanks,
Jason

Our achievements speak for themselves. What we have to keep track
of are our failures, discouragements and doubts. We tend to forget
the past difficulties, the many false starts, and the painful
groping. We see our past achievements as the end result of a
clean forward thrust, and our present difficulties as
signs of decline and decay.
