The JIRA issue proposing the HMM: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MAHOUT-396 I have CC'ed Max who proposed the HMM - though the patch is not yet completed, I know that he as well as a few students are actively working on improving the patch. Any feedback most welcome. Isabel
