Were you using "compatible" similarity implementations? Pearson is
meaningless on boolean data and you would get poor results.
I was using TanimotoCoefficientSimilarity (for both, GenericBooleanPrefUserBasedRecommender and GenericBooleanPrefItemBasedRecommender).
