Collective Intelligence (and similar) introduce the ideas and tools. MIH shows how to run complex examples.
What's missing in this technical space? Recipes! "Here is a problem, here are the tools that will solve it well, and why." This topic and "I can't build" and JIRA notices are the bulk of mahout-user.
