Hi Sean, thank you for your hints. I used now the original pom, where packing is set to .jar so I get no .war file created. Do you have an idea what to change?

I am not sure that the demo will work when accesses through Jetty, as a web service. I don't know that Jetty has Axis in it. But the servlet-based API should work fine. Really, you'd want to export the .war file which the build creates for you already and run it in an app server. It should package up Axis for you and all that.
