I don't see that much overhead (other than the need to have all dependencies in as well): When getting started to build dep packages at least considering to follow the Debian documentation and getting feedback from ppl who have done that before could proof benefitial. Another way to get started quickly would be to host the results at a Ubuntu ppa. Isabel
