Even i tried to download the Mahout 0.5 and tried with that, it gave me the same error. My Environment Settings, 1. Hadoop Version 1.1.1, Mahout 0.7 2. I opened the bashrc file and set these Variables export HADOOP_HOME=/home/user/hadoop export HADOOP_CONF_DIR=/home/user/hadoop/conf export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_37 export PATH=$PATH:$HADOOP_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$MAHOUT_HOME/bin export CLASSPATH=$HADOOP_CONF_DIR 1. Now if i run mahout on command line i would face this error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.hadoop.util.ProgramDriver.driver([Ljava/lang/String;)I 1.
