So, now I once again tried to solve the problem myself and
started to look for more db structure bugs -- first looking into
the snippetdir table, as it is the one were repligard cries.
'owner' field was lacking -- never ask why ;-)

The 'snippet' table was even more flawed as all the
creator/creation, revision, author etc. fields were missing.
Dropped and re-created both tables from midgard-data-1.4-2's
empty.sql (I called the third midgard-data-1.4.tar.bz2 package I
downloaded -2, as I started with -1 for the Dec 25 bugfix pkg).

Then I imported AsgardSite.xml (no errors this time :-)), called
repligard -m, imported asgard.de_DE.xml (again w/o problems, I
couldn't believe it!) -- and there I am. Now I'll try to
continue with the installation as nothing would've happened and
I hadn't lost roughly ten days...
