Possibly. There's code right now to make Midgard a php-dl'able dynamic
library. This is currently for php3, and not production quality.
The php4 effort that is now ongoing will be a PHP extension like any
other;
the zend engine changes are going to be handled by an external module
which
means we will no longer require patches to zend or massive porting
efforts
when a new version of PHP is released. Kudos to Xavier for that one.
