Hello,

I've been musing with Midgard for some time now, without being able to
install it normally.
Then, I met Emiliano and David in Brussels (aile-eau guyz) and decided it
was time to try again.

After some really boring trial and error, I managed to get it installed on
my home machine, a RedHat 7.
But the images for Asgard don't seem to work.

Anyway, I'm now trying to install it from CVS on another box, running Debian.
I followed the instructions on the Midgard site to get the sources.

Then I ran ./makedist 1.4 to package the sources for installation.
Note that I had to edit the TAR options (not I but j) to make tar bzip the
archives.

cd /usr/local/src
bunzip2 -c midgard-lib-1.4.tar.bz2 | tar xvf -
cd midgard-lib-1.4
./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --with-sitegroups

And that :

./configure: line 542: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(midgard-lib,'
./configure: line 542: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(midgard-lib, 1.4)'

I'm stuck there =8(

I wanted to know if there is some kind of step by step recipe to get the
CVS version installed with the normal PHP-4.0.4pl1 or PHP-4.0.5-dev ?
Or if that module support is still under development.
