The server is looking in /htdocs/blobs ....and not finding the "blobs". The
blobs are in the DB, is there someother paramter that must be set to make
this happen?

You have them in blobs.
Just remember what where the path to blobs during compilation or see
apache error.log file and look where midgard is looking for images.
