Hmmm, I've used both IE 5.0 (on NT4) and NS 4something (on RH7), but have only
used the same port: 8102. I haven't been able to create the complete test site
yet, so haven't yet put it online. Consequently, I haven't yet tried it under
another port.

I was getting something like this using Mozilla-0.8. The problem was that
mozilla
would "remember" ports so that if I connected to my site on XXXX, then tried to
connect
to the admin on YYYY, it would still use XXXX. I suppose I should look up the
bug in
bugzilla, but I'm too lazy.
Looks kind of like what's happening to you.
