You might try to see if it helps. Although I would have expected a 'save
as'
dialog for unknown 'extensions'.

The correct solution is to get MS to fix IE. Why IE is being so silly
as to ignore the mime header (still in 5.X if this is what we're seeing)
is beyond me. You tried Mozilla and Navigator, have you tried others
like
Opera, Galeon or Konqueror?
