Hi,
Concerning the attractivity of Midgard: the lack of good documentation is one
of the main (remaining) disadvantages of most of the "high-end" Open Source
software packages. A german-language list would overcome this lack at least a
bit.
Concerning the "Linuxtage" I will be there, at least as a visitor. And if I can
get some more insights into Midgard (I still need some help for compiling
it!!!), I could also think about some more input ;-). My hometown Esslingen is
20 km off from Stuttgart.
Concerning the mailing list and web based UI: From my experience, classical
e-mail-based (ASCII) mailinglists are still the most effective way to
communicate. Web-based UIs are useful for some administration, for archive
purposes and for searching but NOT for the core, the communication part.
We use majordomo for list operation, mailserv and majorcool for admin, mhonarc
for automated conversion to the html archive and htdig for full-text searching.
So we should decide where to set up the list now. And we need some comments
from Emile and Alexander about what they are thinking.
