That's clear, when you're using DSOs -- but you're right
concerning the installation instructions. Could you go to
http://www.midgard-project.org/req/midgard-1.4/installation.htm
and find a meaningful place to annotate that bit? Thanks.

Well, here's why:

You have to uncomment those two lines in order to use
filetemplates (midgard objects served from *.mgd files as
opposed to the usual way of serving midgard objects from the
database).

You don't need directories in your DocumentRoot in order to work
with Midgard pages. See
http://www.midgard-project.org/req/midgard-1.4/midgardserved.htm
for the concepts behind that.

See above.

What happens if you access http://yourhost/admin/ oder /asgard/?

As you can see at the URL I mentioned first in this posting,
there is already a nice Midgard Installation Guide for Midgard
1.4. The only thing to do is to add the things that are
different for 1.4.1 -- PHP4 stuff for example. I'm not sure
who's maintaining the Guide or the Manual at the moment, but any
suggestions or changes will definitely be appreciated and find
their way to the site!
